Recommended exercises to improve voice projection and tone

If you feel you are speaking too quietly, or others have mentioned this, it can be worth checking the reason(s) for this:

  • Are you nervous?
  • Do you lack confidence in what you are saying?
  • Afraid people do not want to hear what you have to say?
  • Feel too self-conscious?
  • Once you know the reason it is worth challenging yourself:
    What would happen if I spoke up a little?

Low voice volume physiologically involves lack of voice projection and not making sufficient use of the diaphragm when speaking. It is essential to make sure you have established the correct breathing pattern and are relaxed to be able to control your voice volume. If you feel you need help with this you can try the exercises above.
